Memory problems are present in many mental disorders. In patients with ADHD, memory problems are frequently associated with their attentional problems. Memory problems are the most obvious problem to the person themselves and their family members. The reason is, that a weak memory is often more exposing than poor attention (Young & Bramham, 2006; Barkley, Murphy & Fisher, 2009).
There are some strategies that a therapist may tailor for a patient to help her/him improve her/him memory. These usually contains the introduction of external, as well as internal strategies.
